Welcome

Carpe diem!!  (Seize the carp!!)

"Nae fabled wizard's wand I trow

Had e'er the magic airt o' Gow,

When, wi' a wave, he draws his bow

Across his wondrous fiddle!"

The above verse comes from the poem, "To Mr Gow, Visiting Dumfries" (From "The Songs & Poems of Robert Burns", James Barke edition, pub. 1955).  Hear the complete poem on the album "Niel Gow's Fiddle".

(Robert Burns was born in Alloway, near Ayr, on the 25th January, 1759.)
